The Thunder Rolls, The Lighting Strikes

A rain casts down in light drizzle as a firestorm unfurls above my head in the Southwestern sky. Bolts of quiet lighting shoot across in a dance of lights, with the occasional sound of thunder hitting my ears.

The chaos above me mirrors the chaos inside me. My heart and mind are a corresponding dance of confusion, worry, determination, and a sense of momentum though perhaps in an unknown direction.

Life is changing before my very eyes and I am at the wheel wondering which direction to steer the car as it is careening down the interstate. I get to choose the destination, I get to choose the speed, but I don’t get to stop.

I met with one of partners of my firm tonight and we had our weekly “what’s next” meeting - which came from a context of present overwhelm.

“The context is decisive” are the words of our trusted confidante and coach, Annette. From a context of overwhelm it is amazing how much possibility you can create, if you simply give yourself the space to create it.

In the midst of a storm pouring down on a dark world, someone looked up at the lighting and “saw the light,” if you will, paving the way for a new dawn of man.

The context is decisive. In the midst of our breakdowns we get to choose the context. While we may be in the fury of everything around us going wrong right before our eyes, our mind gets to choose how it perceives that which is occurring. Choose chaos, confusion, breakdown, upset and you will get that - and many other things.

Choose possibility. Choose possibility. If you choose possibility, you get the entire realm of what is possible. If everything is possible, what is possible? With the world literally caving in around you, and you see a possibility for lifting it back up and putting it back together, you can just as quickly have your world be solid and secure.

Choose the possible.

Choose possibility.

Live in what’s possible.

Life will slow down, life will go the right way and things will get easier.

Live in what’s possible and anything is possible.

Anything out of everything.
